Gegeben ist die Funktion \(f\) mit \(\displaystyle f(x) = \frac{1}{x + 1} - \frac{1}{x + 3}\) und Definitionsmenge \(D_{f} = \mathbb R \, \backslash \, \{-3;-1\}\). Dr Graph von \(f\) wird mit \(G_{f}\) bezeichnet.

Zeigen Sie, dass \(f(x)\) zu jedem der drei folgenden Terme äquivalent ist:

\(\displaystyle \frac{2}{(x + 1)(x + 3)}\); \(\displaystyle \frac{2}{x^2 + 4x + 3}\); \(\displaystyle \frac{1}{0{,}5 \cdot (x + 2)^2 - 0{,}5}\)

Äquivalente Termumformung

\[f(x) = \frac{1}{x + 1} - \frac{1}{x + 3}\,; \enspace D = \mathbb R \, \backslash \,\{-3; -1\}\]

Die Äquivalenz der Terme lässt sich schrittweise zeigen, indem man zunächst den gemeinsamen Nenner bildet, diesen anschließend ausmultipliziert und zuletzt eine quadratische Ergänzung des Nennerterms erfolgt.

\[\begin{align*} f(x) &= \frac{1}{x + 1} - \frac{1}{x + 3} & &| \;\text{gemeinsamen Nenner bilden} \\[0.8em] &= \frac{1 \cdot (x + 3) - 1 \cdot (x + 1)}{(x + 1) \cdot (x + 3)} \\[0.8em] &= \frac{x + 3 - x - 1}{(x + 1) \cdot (x + 3)} \\[0.8em] &= \boldsymbol{\frac{2}{(x + 1) \cdot (x + 3)}} & &| \, \text{Nennerterm ausmultiplizieren} \\[0.8em] &= \frac{2}{x^2 + 3x + x + 3} \\[0.8em] &= \boldsymbol{\frac{2}{x^{2} + 4x + 3}} & &| \; \cdot \frac{0{,}5}{0{,}5} \; (\text{mit} \; 0{,}5 \; \text{erweitern}) \\[0.8em] &= \frac{1}{0{,}5 \cdot \left( x^{2} + 4x + 3 \right)} & &| \; \text{quadratische Ergänzung:} + 2^{2} - 2^{2} \\[0.8em] &= \frac{1}{0{,}5 \cdot \big( \underbrace{x^{2} + 4x + 2^{2}}_{\large{a^{2}\, +\, 2ab\, +\, b^{2}\, =\, (a\, +\, b)^{2}}} - 2^{2} + 3 \big)} & &| \; \text{1. Binomische Formel anwenden} \\[0.8em] &= \frac{1}{0{,}5 \cdot \left[ (x + 2)^{2} -1 \right]} \\[0.8em] &= \boldsymbol{\frac{1}{0{,}5 \cdot (x + 2)^{2} - 0{,}5}} \end{align*}\]

Als Alternative zur quadratischen Ergänzung erweitert man den Term \(\dfrac{1}{0{,}5 \cdot (x + 2)^{2} -0{,}5}\) mit dem Faktor \(2\) und weist die Äquivalenz zu Term \(\dfrac{2}{x^{2} + 4x + 3}\) nach.

\[\begin{align*} & \quad \: \frac{1}{0{,}5 \cdot (x + 2)^{2} -0{,}5} & &| \cdot \frac{2}{2} \; (\text{mit} \; 2 \; \text{erweitern}) \\[0.8em] &= \frac{2}{\underbrace{(x + 2)^{2}}_{\large{(a \, + \, b)^{2}}} - 1} & &| \; \text{1. Binomische Formel anwenden} \\[0.8em] &= \frac{2}{\underbrace{x^{2} + 4x + 4}_{\large{a^{2}\,+\,2ab\,+\,b^{2}}} - 1} \\[0.8em] &= \frac{2}{x^{2} + 4x + 3} \end{align*}\]
